Apples
The apple is the king of all fruits loved by people of all ages because of its refreshing taste balancing sweetness and acidity. Young apple trees were first brought to Aomori by an American missionary, John Inge. Six hundred species of apples have been produced so far and about 15 varieties of apple are now on the market. Aomori Prefecture is famous for having the largest yield and most varieties of apples in Japan.
Types of typical apples

Rice
Aomorimai is genuine healthy, pure rice produced with clear water from the mountainous regions of Shirakami and Towada Lake The cool summers and few insects mean that this rice requires only a minimum of agricultural chemicals. In recent years, "Tsugaru Roman" and "Yumeakari" have become popular species of rice of good eating quality, and "Mutsuhomare" is favorably received for business use.

Agricultural and livestock products

Aomori, which has a cold climate, is also famous for vegetables, especially Chinese yams, edible chrysanthemums and garlic. Because Hakkoda and the Ohu mountain range, are suitable for stock raising, there are also a wide variety of livestock.
