There are five inns in this serene spa with
abundant nature at the northern foot of Mt.
Osore. The spa is surrounded by a primeval
forest of Japanese cypresses and the scenic
Yagen mountain stream runs through it. It
is said that the spa was discovered three
hundreds years ago by the remaining retainers
of the Toyotomi family who escaped from the
Osaka-natsunojin, the battle in summer in
Osaka. These are old inns operated by their
descendents. Yagen Spa can be reached after
an enjoyable walk along the promenade for
about two kilometers.
