Asamushi Spa is the most scenic in the prefecture along the Bay of Mutsu. It is a historical hot spring where the lord of the Tsugaru feudal domain also took a bath. The spa is also called "a back parlor of Aomori." It is a gigantic hot spring resort with nearly fifty inns and hotels The hot spring resort is divided into the hilly section and the seaside section. The spa originated in the hilly section where there are many inns that retain their old appearance. In the seaside section, there are many large-scale hotels The old historical appearance can be seen in the current "Yanaginoyu." The headquarters of the Tsugaru feudal domain was located there and a bathtub made completely of Japanese cypress was ordered by the lord of the Tsugaru feudal domain. Silhouetted against the setting sun that bathes the sea in red, Yushima in the Bay of Mutsu, is the most scenic spa in Asamushi. But the alleys in the hilly section, which remind us of the old days of Asamushi, create a warm atmosphere when the sun sets.
