Tsugaru-chikyu Village
 Morita Village 
Tsugaru-chikyu Village is a sightseeing facility with accommodation and an amphitheater, which was modeled after the coliseum built under the Roman imperial regime, with a capacity for 5,000 people. The village is popular with events on a national scale.

To get there it takes about 15 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or 15 minutes by the Gono Line to Mutsu-morita Station.

Mountainous region of Shirakami
 Ajigasawa Town, Fukaura Town, Iwasaki Village and Nishimeya Village 
The region has one of the largest primeval forests of beech trees in the world and it is designated as a natural world heritage site. The summit of the mountainous region commands a fine view of the Sea of Japan and the sea of beech trees.


Jyuniko and the Japan Canyon
 Iwasaki Village 
A group of 33 lakes is generally called Jyuniko. Among them, "Aoike" is a beautiful example that resembles blue ink being poured into the lake. The Japan Canyon nearby makes a beautiful contrast with its white cliffs, which were created by collapsible erosion, and the surrounding greenery.

To get there it takes about two hours by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or two hours 30 minutes by the Gono Line to Jyuniko Station.

Akaishi mountain stream and the Kurokuma Falls
 Ajigasawa Town
The Akaishi mountain stream originates in the mountainous region of Shirakami. In particular, the Kurokuma Falls, 85 meters in length and 15 meters in width, present a magnificent view.

To get there it takes about sixty minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station to the Kurokuma Falls.

Cherry blossoms in Ashino Park
 Kanagi Town 
Two thousand two hundred cherry trees and old pine trees are spread along the lakeside of Ashino Lake. The Tsugaru Railway runs through the park and its small, unmanned station is pretty.

To get there it takes about 15 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station.

Osamu Dazai and the Memorial Hall of Osamu Dazai
 Kanagi Town 
Osamu Dazai was a literary man who represents Aomori. The memorial hall is his parents' house where he spent his childhood before he entered the Aomori Junior High School. The memorial hall is a palatial residence made completely of Japanese cypress.

To get there it takes about 20 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or 20 minutes by the Tsugaru Railway to Kanagi Station.

Nikko yellow day lilies and irises on Bense Moor
 Kizukuri Town 
Bense Moor is a high moor along the coast of the southernmost extreme of the prefecture. At the beginning of June, the whole moor is covered with Nikko yellow day lilies. The moor turns to purple with bunches of irises before July.

To get there it takes about 25 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station.

Kamegaoka site
 Kizukuri Town 
Kamegaoka site is typical of the remains that reflect the final days of the Jomon period and they are known for their earthen figures that look like they are wearing eye protectors or creatures from outer space.

Mushiokuri
 Goshogawara City 
Mushiokuri is a festival that prays for the dispersion of insects causing damage to crops and for a good harvest. People parade with "insects," which are made of straw with gigantic dragonsf heads carved from wood on their shoulders to lively musical accompaniment played on traditional Japanese instruments.

To get there it takes about 8 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station.

Enkakuji Temple
 Fukaura Town 
Located in the heart of a mountain on the west side of the port of Fukaura, Enkakuji Temple is said to have been founded by Tamuramaro Sakanoue in 807. There are various treasures in the temple, and its votive picture tablets of boats and legendary topknots are designated important cultural properties.

To get there it takes about 70 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or one hour 50 minutes by the Gono Line to Fukaura Station, and five minutes by car from the station.

Gono Line and the west coast
 Coast area in the Tsugaru area
From the window of the train we can enjoy the scenery of fields of apple trees and the beautiful coastline. The sunset from the western coast over the Sea of Japan is magnificent.

Jusan Lake
 Shiura Village and Nakasato Town 
Jusan Lake is a lagoon at the mouth of the Iwaki River. A wooden bridge 250 meters in length, made of Japanese cypress, connects the lakefront and an islet in the lake. The legend of Tosaminato from the Medieval Period is connected with this lake.

To get there it takes about 30 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station.

Koganezaki Spa for eternal youth
 Fukaura Town 
This popular open-air bath near the shore is almost doused with sea spray. Nothing can describe the sunset that one sees when taking an open-air bath.

To get there it takes about two hours by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or two hours ten minutes by the Gono Line to Henashi Station.

Santa Land Shirakami
 Iwasaki Village
Santa Land Shirakami creates the world of Santa Claus and is a land full of dreams and enjoyable places including Santa House, Santa Post and Santa Hall.

To get there it takes about two hours by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or two hours thirty minutes by the Gono Line to Jyuniko Station.

Tsugaru Railway: Trains with wind-bells and coal stoves
 Tsugaru Railway  
The Tsugaru Railway is a privately owned railway connecting a distance of 20 kilometers between Goshogawara and Nakasato. The railway provides a sense of the seasons by operating trains with wind-bells in summer, bell crickets in fall and coal stoves in winter.

To get there it takes about 90 minutes by car from Aomori JR Station, or 90 minutes by the Tsugaru Line to Minmaya Station and about 20 minutes by bus from the station.

Tsurunomai Bridge
 Tsuruta Town 
This bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Japan connecting both lakefronts of Tsugaru-fujimi Lake. The bridge is made of Japanese cypress and consists of three continuous arched bridges of a total of 300 meters in length. The bridge resembles the way a crane dances and looks beautiful.

It takes about 15 minutes by car from Goshogawara JR Station, or five minutes by Gono Line to Tsuruta Station, and five minutes from the station.
