| Camellias in the northernmost extreme of
Natsudomari Peninsula |

Around April and May, more than 10,000 scarlet
camellias are in full bloom on Mt. Tsubaki
on the Natsudomari Peninsula.

The Sannai-Maruyama Site was an epoch-making
discovery that changed the historical perspective.
They have been drawing attention as one of
the largest Jomon sites in the nation. They
provide a new place where we can travel back
in time to the world of Jomon.

The bay area along the Bay of Aomori creates
a beautiful, modern space. The illuminated

Sukayu Spa was designated the first hot spring
of the private sector in 1954 and its "bath
for 1,000 bathers" made completely of
Japanese cypress is popular. The thick, opaque
whitish hot water has highly effective medicinal
properties.

| Jogakura mountainous stream and big bridge |
|
|
This rough, masculine mountainous stream
presents a magnificent, beautiful view in
harmony with the largest deck bridge in Japan.
Jogakura Bridge spans about 120 meters above
the stream.

|
 This chain of mountains around Mt. Hakkoda
1,585 meters above sea level is generally
called Hakkodasan. Magnificent nature can
be fully enjoyed here, such as beautiful
flowers on the moors, vast green highlands
and groups of many lakes and marshes.

| Umbrella plants and azaleas on Tashiro Moor |
|
|
On this vast moor in Urahakkoda, various
flowers appear from early summer when umbrella
plants and azaleas are in full bloom until
September. A panorama of dynamic nature can
be fully enjoyed.

The Aomori Nebuta festival is the biggest
fire festival in Japan. The short summer
of the northern region is energetically spent
with high-spirited festival music, energetic
dancing and a parade of gorgeous statuesque
warrior dolls.

|
The museum shows changes in the archeology,
nature and people of the prefecture. The
history of Aomori before Jomon can be easily
understood with audio equipment and dioramas.

More than ten large Nebuta and the Hirosaki
Neputa are constantly on display. Nebuta
can be seen here even when the festival is
not being held.

| Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum of Art |
|
|
This museum was built in memory of the achievements
of the world-famous printer Shiko Munakata
who was born in Aomori Prefecture. The Azekura-style
building, where works and articles left after
his death are on display, and the Japanese
garden create an atmosphere of harmony.

| Asamushi Aquarium in Aomori Prefecture |
|
|
The tunnel-shaped 15 meters width water tank
creates the illusion of being underwater
and visitors can enjoy strolling by watching
the schools of fish. Sea lion and dolphin
shows are also enjoyable.

This is a long established amusement area
in a hot spring resort with 50 hotels and
inns. Along the peaceful Bay of Mutsu, islets
floating offshore offer a beautiful view.

| Swans along the coast of Asadokoro |
|
|
Every year around the end of October, about
1,000 swans or "god's messengers"
fly over the sea from Siberia to the coast
of Asadokoro on the Natsudomari Peninsula.

by the Tohoku-honsen Line to Kominato Station,
and 10 minutes on foot from the station. |

The Cape of Tappi is a "windy cape"
in the northernmost extreme part of the Tsugaru
Peninsula. The cape commands a panoramic
view of the Shimokita Peninsula, the Sea
of Japan and the mountains in Hokkaido. In
July groups of hydrangeas are a harbinger
of summer and liven up the harsh surroundings.

car from Aomori JR Station, or 90 minutes
by the Tsugaru Line to Minmaya Station, and
about 20 minutes by bus from the station. |

| Memorial Museum of the Seikan Tunnel |
|
|
The memorial museum was built in order to
pass on the passion of those who spent 42
years from the conception to the penetration
of the Seikan Tunnel and the best technology
to future generations.

by the Tsugaru Line to Minmaya Station, and
