Rokkasho Village is located at the base of Shimokita Peninsula in the eastern part of Aomori Prefecture. The area around the lakes and ponds inhabited by rare wild birds is known as a treasury of ancient ruins. There are also nuclear fuel cycle facilities and national petroleum reserve bases in the village. The village is known as a place where you can experience both ancient cultures and modern science at the same time.
