In the Shimokita area, highlights are an area from mountainous areas in Mutsu City to Mt. Osore and Yagen, an area from the Kawauchi Gorge to Lake Kawauchi, and an area along the Kamoshika Line. Various forms of beauty can be enjoyed such as harmony with water and green along the gorge, and changes in vast hilly and mountainous areas. There will be many events for the enjoyment of spring in Shimokita. The major event is a walking rally and there are also a fishing contest and an afforestation festival.
