Aomori area
Sukayu
Notable places in the Aomori City and Higashi-Tsugaru County areas are the whole area of North Hakkoda including Jogakura and Kayanochaya. The best time for viewing comes late in Aomori Prefecture. The gradually changing colors of the leaves to that of can be enjoyed from villages to highlands as well as the ever-changing views of various trees in early spring. From the hilly areas in Jogakura and Hakkoda, a multitude of views can be enjoyed. These range from an undulating sea of trees constantly changing color and the last traces of snow covered with the husks of the red buds of beech trees in contrast with the young light green buds of the beech tree forest, and a misty illusory landscape.

Hirosaki and Kuroishi areas
Nakano Shrine in Kuroishi
Notable places in the Minami- and Naka-Tsugaru areas are the mountainous region of Shirakami, around Mt. Iwaki, areas from Kuroishi City to Hakkoda, and around Lake Towada. In the Shirakami area, there are many places where panoramic views can be enjoyed from limited spaces like the Tsugaru Pass from Lake Miyama in Nishimeya Village to the Anmon Falls and along the Shirakami Line (to be opened at the end of May). At the foot of Mt. Iwaki, changes in the trees and the beauty of flowers can be fully enjoyed from the lowlands to the highlands. There are also many places where a view of beautiful forests and a sea of energetic trees can be enjoyed in Kuroishi City, areas from Mt. Momiji to South Hakkoda, and from the Nuru River to Lake Towada.

Towada, Kamikita and San-nohe areas
Oirase mountain stream
Notable places in the Kamikita County and San-nohe County extend from East Hakkoda to South Hakkoda, past Mt. Yake toward Oirase, Lake Towada and the surrounding forest. Areas notable for the scarlet-tinged leaves of maple trees in fall also offer an impressive, beautiful view of maple trees in spring, and this can be clearly seen in these areas. Harmony with the water and forests can be enjoyed along the promenade in South Hakkoda and Tsuta-no-shichinuma; the beauty of the changing colors of the hills and mountains in Yunodai; and harmony with flowers and young leaves on moors as well as the colors of the complicatedly-configured mountains viewed from mountain streams and winding ridges around Towada Lake, San-nohe Town, Shingo Village and Takko Town. One will be especially impressed by the commanding panorama, changes in the configuration and the continuously repeated coloration of various trees like spun threads along roads toward Takko Town and around Okuromori.

Goshogawara area
Jyuniko
A notable place in the Kita-Tsugaru area is the mountainous region of Shirakami. The Shirakami Line can be accessed from the Akaishi River, the Oirase River and the Sasanai River. Along the mountainous stream, the beautiful colors of various trees can be enjoyed. An access road along the mountainous stream going up toward the Shirakami Line is also a scenic spot. In addition, "Mini Shirakami" in Ajigasawa Town and "Jyuniko" in Iwasaki Village are well-known places where part of the glamour of Shirakami can be fully enjoyed. The fantastic forests and the scenic beauty of the water can be enjoyed with the mountains of Shirakami in the background.

Mutsu area
On the Shimokita Peninsula, notable places lie from mountainous areas in Mutsu City to Mt. Osore and Yagen, and from areas along the Kawauchi mountainous stream to Lake Kawauchi, especially along the Kamoshika Line. In particular, from areas along the Kawauchi mountainous stream from Lake Kawauchi to Kamoshika Line, forests are in harmony with the water of the mountainous stream surrounded by forests and the vigor of fresh foliage can be felt. Past the mountainous stream, one can enjoy changes in the vast hilly areas and mountains.
